The drawing book

One of my favorites: The drawing book is not the usual coffeetable book with lots of nice images.
The author devides the medium drawing in 5 different categories (measurement, nature, the city, dreams and the body) and finds interesting examples for each chapter, from da Vinci and Duerer to contemporary artists.
Kovats thought about her categories very carefully, but she is far from considering it to be the only truth about the medium of drawing, but rather tries an interesting approach on it.
The choices of artists are great; there is not the usual name dropping and the connections she finds between different artists are very interesting.
